In de gaten houden: Jordan Mackampa

De in Londen woonachtige zanger met Congolese roots combineert soulvolle vocalen met alternatieve pop en akoestische gitaar. Geïnspireerd door de liefde van zijn moeder voor de grote soulzangers Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers en Curtis Mayfield heeft hij zijn eigen geluid gevonden. Hij bracht al meerdere ep’s uit en deed ons land al verscheidene keren aan met optredens. Binnenkort staat hij op Into The Great Wide Open en later dit jaar doet hij nog een optreden in Paradiso-Noord.

Jordan Mackampa over het Under: ‘Under is about falling for people you only met briefly on a train journey, but feeling as if they could be the new love of your life, without hardly knowing them. But, within that journey home, you’ve let your mind drift off to who they might be as a person, what kind of food they like, tv shows you could watch together — basically imagining your whole life with them, whilst understanding that none of that will happen, if you don’t go over to them & ask them out on a date, before they leave.’
